For the purposes of data protection laws (such as the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)), Trendo acts as the data controller of your personal information.
Our Commitment to Privacy: Trendo highly values your privacy and the confidentiality of your information. We take rigorous measures to safeguard client data and prevent unauthorized access. All personal data you provide will be handled in accordance with this Policy and used only for legitimate purposes. Trendo pledges to keep your personal data – including identification documents, contact details, financial information, and trading activity records – strictly confidential, and we do not disclose your information to any unauthorized third party or governmental authority except as required by law or with your explicit consent. We store all personal information on secure servers (including our protected infrastructure at https://api.trendofx.com) under the highest security standards.
Scope of this Policy: This Privacy Policy covers personal data collected through all of Trendo’s online and offline channels for providing our services. It applies when you register for a Trendo trading account, use our websites or mobile applications, engage with our customer support, participate in our promotions or educational programs, or otherwise interact with Trendo. It also governs personal data collected via cookies or similar technologies when you visit our sites. This Policy does not apply to services or websites operated by third parties that Trendo does not control. Our websites may contain links to third-party sites (for example, analytics providers or social media platforms); clicking those links or enabling those integrations is subject to the privacy policies of those third parties, not Trendo’s, and we encourage you to review their policies separately.
Eligibility Notice: Trendo’s services are intended for adult clients who complete our required compliance checks. We do not offer services to individuals under the legal age of majority (generally 18 years or older), and we do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If we become aware that a minor has provided us with personal information, we will inform and activate deletion process. Likewise, our services are not available in certain restricted jurisdictions where we are not authorized to operate. We do not knowingly solicit or collect data from residents of countries or regions where our services are prohibited by law or regulation. Additionally, to use Trendo’s services, all clients must go through our Know-Your-Customer (KYC) identity verification process and meet our compliance requirements. If you are unwilling or unable to complete the mandatory KYC or if you are in a jurisdiction where our services are not permitted, you should not use our website or services.
Personal Data We Collect
Trendo collects various categories of personal data about you in order to provide our trading services, fulfill legal obligations, and improve your user experience. We collect information that you provide to us directly, information that is collected automatically when you use our services, and information obtained from third parties (such as verification services or business partners). We do not collect special categories of sensitive personal data (such as information about your race, religion, health, or political beliefs, biometrics, sexual orientation, and similar) unless it is absolutely necessary and permitted by law. The types of personal data we collect include:
- Identity and Contact Information: This includes data that identifies you, such as your full name, date of birth, nationality, government-issued identification numbers (e.g. passport or ID card number), and contact details (mailing address, email address, telephone number). We collect this information when you register for an account or update your profile. We may also record additional identity details like your occupation, employer, and country of residence if required for our compliance checks.
- Verification Documents (KYC Data): As a regulated financial services provider, we are legally required to verify your identity under anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorism financing laws. During registration or account verification, we collect copies of documents to confirm your identity and address. For example, we may request scans or photos of your;
- Passport
- National ID card
- Driver’s license
- Proof of address (such as a utility bill or bank statement)
- A selfie or video verification (in some cases)
- We may also ask for information on your source of funds or wealth (e.g. bank confirmation letters or income proof) if required by law.
If you do not provide the required identification information, we may not be able to open or maintain your account or provide certain services to you, since this data is necessary for legal compliance and ensuring the security of our platform. Submitting false or fraudulent documents is strictly prohibited and will lead to account suspension or closure in accordance with our terms.
- Financial and Transaction Data: This includes information related to your transactions with Trendo and your financial accounts that you use for deposits or withdrawals. For example, we collect your bank account details, wire transfer information, or payment card numbers and the cardholder’s name when you deposit or withdraw funds. We also maintain records of your account balances, trading account numbers, the trading transactions you execute (e.g. trade history, order size, asset traded, timestamps), and any profits or losses. Additionally, if you participate in promotions or bonus programs, we record the relevant transaction details (such as referral codes or bonus amounts). This financial and transactional data is necessary for operating your trading account and complying with financial regulations.
- Profile and Usage Data: We gather data on how you interact with our platforms and services. This includes your Trendo account username or ID, login credentials (which are stored in encrypted form), and preferences (such as preferred language or interface settings). We also log your activity on our website/app, such as pages or screens viewed, buttons or links clicked, features used, time spent on certain pages, and the dates/times of your visits. If you use our mobile application or web trading terminal, we collect information about your in-app actions (for instance, placing a trade or using certain tools). This usage data helps us understand user engagement and improve our services. It also includes technical information automatically collected from your devices, such as your IP address, device type (e.g. mobile or PC, OS version), browser type and version, screen resolution, language settings, and other device identifiers or telemetry. We collect some of this data through cookies and similar technologies as described in the Cookies section below. Note that in certain jurisdictions (including the EU), some of this technical data may be considered personal data if it can be linked to you.
- Communications and Support Data: If you contact us or we contact you, we will collect and retain records of that communication. This category includes correspondence via email, phone, live chat, our support ticket system, social media messages, or any other channel. For example, when you email our support team or use the live chat, we will keep the content of your inquiry and our response. We also log details such as the date/time of contact and the communication channel used. If you call our customer support lines, note that calls may be recorded for quality assurance, training, and legal compliance purposes. These communication records are considered in handling any complaints or providing ongoing customer service. They also help us verify any requests you make (such as exercising data rights) and to resolve issues.
- Marketing and Preference Data: This includes your preferences in receiving marketing or newsletters from Trendo, and information about your engagement with our marketing communications. For instance, if you subscribe to our market analysis updates or promotional emails, we collect that preference. We also note whether you have opted out of certain communications. If you participate in any surveys, contests, webinars, or educational events we organize, we will collect the information you provide related to those activities (such as survey responses or webinar registration details).
- Social Media Information: Trendo maintains official pages on platforms like Instagram, Telegram, WhatsApp, and other social media networks to share news and updates. If you interact with our social media pages (for example, by commenting on or messaging us via these platforms), we may receive personal data such as your social media username, profile information, and the content of your messages or comments. We will use any such information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. Please note that any content you post publicly on Trendo’s social media pages (e.g. commenting on a post) may be visible to others, so you should avoid sharing sensitive personal details on those platforms. Trendo is not responsible for the personal data you choose to submit publicly in social media comments, which are governed by the privacy policies of the respective platforms.
- Third-Party and Public Source Data: In some cases, we obtain personal data about you from third-party sources or public databases, in order to comply with regulations or improve our services. For example, we may receive background check results or verification information from identity verification providers or compliance databases to ensure we are providing services to legitimate and complaint individuals. We might also collect information from credit reference agencies or financial crime prevention services as part of our due diligence. If you were referred to Trendo by an introducing broker (IB) or affiliate partner, we may receive basic personal details from them (like your name, contact, or an ID code) to track the referral and for commission purposes. Additionally, we may collect publicly available information about you (for instance, news articles or public social media profiles) where needed for risk management or fraud prevention (for example, to verify your employment or reputation as part of enhanced due diligence). We will only collect and use such third-party or public data in accordance with the law and for the purposes described in this Policy.
No Collection of Sensitive Categories: As noted above, Trendo’s policy is not to collect any sensitive personal data revealing racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, trade union membership, genetic or biometric data, health information, or information about an individual’s sex life or sexual orientation. We do not require this information for providing our trading services. Please refrain from providing us with such sensitive data. The only potential exceptions would be if required by law (for example, data about certain political positions might be relevant if you are a politically exposed person under AML regulations) – but in general we do not ask for or process these special categories of data.
Aggregated and Anonymized Data: We may also create aggregated, anonymized, or statistical data based on the personal information we collect. For instance, we might aggregate usage data to calculate the percentage of users trading a particular asset, or to report on the number of customers in a region. Such aggregated data does not identify you personally and is not considered personal data under applicable law. We use it to understand and improve our business, or we may share aggregated statistics (e.g. percentage of users from different countries) with partners or the public. However, if we ever combine aggregated data with your personal data in a way that it can identify you, we will treat the combined data as personal data and protect it accordingly.
Cookies and Tracking Technologies
Like most websites and online services, Trendo uses Cookies and similar tracking technologies (such as web beacons, pixels, and device identifiers) to collect certain technical and usage information automatically when you interact with our sites and apps. Cookies are small text files placed on your computer or device that allow us to recognize your browser or device and store some information about your preferences. These technologies help us provide core site functionality, improve performance, and deliver a better user experience tailored to you.
Type of Cookies we user: We use cookies for several important purposes:
- Essential Cookies: These are necessary for our website and platform to function properly. For example, when you log into your account, we use cookies to maintain your session so you don’t have to re-enter your credentials on every page. Essential cookies also help us remember your language or region preferences and keep our services secure by detecting irregular site behavior.
- Analytics and Performance: We use cookies and third-party analytics tools to understand how users arrive at and use our site, which pages are popular, and other usage patterns. This information helps us troubleshoot performance issues and improve our platform design and content. For instance, we utilize Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager cookies to collect information about website traffic and user interactions (such as pages visited, time spent, and referring websites). These tools provide us with aggregated metrics about how our site is used. The data Google Analytics collects may be transmitted to and stored on servers in various countries (including the United States), so we implement appropriate safeguards for such transfers as described in the Data Transfers section of this Policy.
- Marketing and Advertising: Trendo’s marketing efforts are primarily focused on our own services (we do not host third-party ads on our platform), but we do use certain cookies to assist with marketing communications and to measure their effectiveness. For example, if we run online advertising campaigns, cookies may help us track which ads you’ve seen or interacted with, and whether you visited our site after seeing an ad. We also may use cookies or pixels from services like Google Ads for re-targeting, i.e. showing Trendo promotional messages on other platforms to people who have visited our site. Additionally, we use Zoho CRM and related tools to manage our customer relationships and email communications; these tools may employ cookies or trackers in our emails to note if you opened an email or clicked a link, which helps us tailor follow-up messages.
- Functionality: These cookies remember choices you make on our site to enhance your experience. For instance, if you prefer the site in dark mode (if such a feature is available) or you adjust certain dashboard settings, cookies help save those preferences. They can also remember your language selection or other customizations so you don’t have to set them every time.
- Payment and Fraud Prevention: When you initiate deposits or withdrawals, our payment gateway providers or banking partners might use cookies or similar technologies to facilitate those transactions and prevent fraud. For example, they might embed a secure iframe with their own cookies to process your credit card payment and verify that the transaction is genuine. We only partner with reputable payment processors, and any information collected by those third-party payment tools via cookies is subject to their privacy policies.
Third-Party Cookies: Some cookies on our site are set by third parties that provide services or features to us. Notable third-party services we use include Google Analytics, Zoho CRM, GTM, Hotjar, Meta Pixels, and potentially other analytics or tracking services that assist in improving our platform. These third parties may use their cookies to collect information on our behalf about your device and usage patterns (for example, your IP address or unique device ID, browser type, and usage info). We ensure that any third-party provider we use is bound to protect your data and only use it for the specific purposes we require (such as analytics or customer support).
Cookie Choices: You have the ability to manage or disable cookies through your browser settings. Most web browsers allow you to refuse new cookies, delete existing cookies, or notify you when new cookies are set. However, please be aware that if you block or delete certain cookies, parts of our website or platform may not function properly. For instance, blocking essential cookies might prevent you from logging in or using key features of the trading platform. We recommend that you keep essential cookies enabled for the best experience. For analytics and marketing cookies, you can typically opt out without affecting core functionality. Tools like Google Analytics also offer their own opt-out mechanisms (such as the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on). Additionally, you can manage preferences for many advertising cookies via industry sites.
Future Cookie Policy: We are in the process of developing a comprehensive Cookie Policy which will provide detailed information about all cookies and tracking technologies in use on our site, including their purposes and expiration times. Once finalized, that Cookie Policy will be available on our website and will supplement this Privacy Policy. In the meantime, if you have any specific questions about our use of cookies, you can contact us using the details in the Contact Us section of this Policy.
How We Use Your Personal Data
Trendo collects and uses personal data only for legitimate and lawful purposes. We will only process your personal information where we have a valid legal basis to do so (such as fulfilling a contract with you, complying with a legal obligation, pursuing our legitimate business interests, or obtaining your consent in certain cases). Below is an overview of the purposes for which we use your data and the corresponding legal bases under data protection laws like the GDPR:
- To Create and Manage Your Account: When you sign up for a Trendo account, we use your personal details (identity and contact data) to register you as a user in our system and set up your trading account. We use this data to perform our contract with you: providing you with the trading platform and related services you requested. This includes maintaining your account profile, assigning you a unique account ID, and enabling you to log in securely. We also use your contact information to communicate account-related information (such as welcome emails, account statements, or notices about changes to terms).
- Identity Verification and KYC Compliance: As a regulated broker, Trendo must verify the identity of its clients and conduct due diligence to prevent fraud, money laundering, and other illegal activities. We use the personal data and documents you provide during the KYC process to confirm your identity and screen for any regulatory red flags. For example, we will verify that your name, date of birth, and identification documents are authentic and match each other, and we may cross-check your details against government backlists, scammers, or exposed persons databases. We may also use third-party services or software to help authenticate documents (for instance, scanning for document security features). All of this processing is done to comply with our legal obligations under anti-money laundering (AML) laws and financial regulations. It is mandatory: without verifying your identity, we cannot lawfully provide services to users.
- Providing Trading Services and Facilitating Transactions: We process your personal data to allow you to trade and use our platform features. This includes executing your trade orders, maintaining your trading history, and providing real-time account information. We also use your financial account details to process deposits, withdrawals, and transfers of funds. For example, if you request a withdrawal to your bank, we will use your stored bank account information to initiate the payment, and we may share necessary details with our payment processing partners to complete the transaction. We keep records of all these transactions and account movements for auditing and regulatory reporting. This use of data is necessary to perform our contract with you (i.e. to deliver the trading and account services you signed up for).
- Communicating with You and Customer Support: We will use your contact information (email address, phone number, etc.) to communicate with you about your account and respond to your inquiries. This includes sending service-related announcements (e.g., confirmations of transactions, security alerts like login notifications, password reset instructions, or updates to our terms and policies). Our support team will also use your personal details and account data to assist you when you reach out with questions or issues. For instance, if you contact support about a problem with a withdrawal, we will access your relevant account records to resolve the issue and then reply to you. We may also contact you proactively if we detect an issue (such as unusual login attempts or if we need additional documents to verify your account). These communications are considered part of our services to you.
- Improving and Personalizing Our Services: We analyze the data we collect on how users interact with our website and platform to improve functionality, fix bugs, and enhance user experience. For example, we might analyze usage logs to identify bottlenecks or errors in the trading app, or to determine which features are most popular. We also review feedback provided through surveys or support communications to understand customer needs. Additionally, we may use certain data to personalize your experience – such as remembering your preferences and tailoring content or interface for you. For instance, if we know your preferred language or that you frequently trade certain instruments, we might customize your dashboard view accordingly. We perform these analyses under our legitimate interest in running and improving our business and providing a high-quality, competitive service. We ensure that any such processing for improvement or personalization does not override your privacy rights – often the data used is aggregated or pseudonymized.
- Marketing and Promotional Communications: With your consent or as otherwise permitted by applicable law, we may use your personal data (primarily your name, email, social media account, or phone number) to send you marketing communications about Trendo products, services, and offers. This can include newsletters with market analysis, information about new features or account types, promotional offers, trading contests, or referral program incentives. We strive to send you content that is relevant to you – for example, we might tailor the messaging based on your trading preferences or history (this could be considered a form of profiling for marketing, where we segment users by activity to provide more pertinent promotions). You have the right to opt out of receiving marketing communications at any time – each marketing email will contain an “Unsubscribe” link, or you can contact us to be removed from promotional lists. Even if you opt out of marketing messages, you will still receive transactional and service communications (as those are not promotional). Our basis for processing your data for direct marketing is either your consent (for example, if you tick a box to subscribe to a newsletter) or our legitimate interest in informing our users about our services. In jurisdictions where consent is required for email marketing, we will obtain your consent.
• Profiling and Automated Decision-Making: In general, Trendo does not rely on automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects on you without human intervention. Most decisions regarding your relationship with Trendo (such as account approval, risk assessments, or transaction reviews) involve human review. However, we do use automated systems for certain tasks – for instance, to automatically verify the authenticity of an ID document or to flag unusual trading patterns or login locations for fraud prevention. These systems might profile certain aspects of your behavior (like if an algorithm flags a withdrawal request as high risk because it deviates from your usual pattern). Any automated flags are typically reviewed by our compliance or risk team members before action is taken. We may also use automated tools to categorize customers (for example, marking some accounts for additional monitoring if certain criteria are met, such as being a politically exposed person). We will not make any purely automated decisions about you that would have a significant adverse impact on your rights or finances without providing you an opportunity for human review.
- Risk Management and Fraud Prevention: We will process personal data as needed to protect the security of our platform, our customers, and Trendo’s legal rights. This includes using data to detect and prevent fraud, hacking attempts, money laundering, or other unauthorized or illegal activities. For example, we monitor login IP addresses and may block or challenge logins from unusual locations to prevent account takeovers. We also employ systems to monitor trading activity for patterns that might indicate abusive behavior (such as trading strategies that exploit system latencies) or violations of our trading rules. If we detect potential fraud or misuse, we may use your data to investigate and take appropriate action (which could include freezing the account, requesting additional verification, or reporting to authorities if required by law). We also maintain records of past fraudulent behavior to block repeat offenders. These activities are part of our legal obligations to maintain a safe financial environment and our legitimate interest in protecting our business and customers.
- Regulatory Reporting and Compliance: As a financial services provider, Trendo is subject to various laws and regulations that require us to collect, retain, and sometimes report certain personal data. We use your information to fulfill these obligations. For instance, we must keep records of user’s transactions and identification information for a minimum period (often five years or more) under AML laws, even after you stop using our services. We also may need to report aggregate information to financial regulators or submit suspicious activity reports to relevant authorities if certain triggers are met. Additionally, if we receive a lawful request from authorities, we may be required to provide certain personal data from our records. We will only disclose what is necessary and will ensure any transfer of data to authorities is lawful. Using your data for these purposes is necessary for us to comply with our legal obligations as a licensed and regulated business.
- Service Announcements and Changes: We may use your contact information to notify you about important changes to our services or policies. For example, if we update this Privacy Policy or our Terms of Service, we may send you an email or platform notification to inform you of the changes. We might also inform you about technical updates, security alerts, or maintenance downtime that could affect your ability to use the platform. These communications are not marketing in nature but are required for the ongoing provision of services and keeping you informed of your rights and obligations.
- Optional Features and Additional Services: From time to time, we may offer new features, educational content, or programs (for example, trading webinars, loyalty programs, or community events). If you choose to participate or use these, we will process whatever personal data is necessary for the specific feature. For instance, if you sign up for a webinar, we will use your email to send the webinar link and perhaps your name and country to tailor the content. Such processing will typically be based on your consent (when you opt-in to the feature) or because it’s needed to provide the feature you requested.
Trendo will not use your personal data for any purpose that is incompatible with the ones described above without first obtaining your consent or providing required notice. We do not sell your personal data to third parties for their own marketing or profit. All processing of personal information is conducted in accordance with applicable law and this Policy.
Legal Bases for Processing Personal Data
For individuals located in jurisdictions that require a lawful basis for processing personal data (such as the European Union under the GDPR or the United Kingdom under UK data protection law), Trendo ensures that each use of your information has a valid legal basis. We have outlined the primary legal grounds in the section above alongside each purpose. Here is a summary of the legal bases we rely on:
- Performance of a Contract: Many of our processing activities are necessary to provide the services that you request under our Client Agreement (Terms of Service). When we handle your personal data to open your account, execute your trades, process deposits/withdrawals, or provide customer support, we are doing so to fulfill our contractual obligations to you. If you choose not to provide certain data needed for the contract (for example, your name or payment details), we may not be able to provide the service.
- Compliance with Legal Obligations: We are required by various laws to collect and use certain personal data about our users. For example, financial regulations require us to perform KYC identity verification, monitor transactions for suspicious activity, maintain records for specified retention periods, and report certain information to regulators or law enforcement. These are legal obligations, and we must process personal data to comply. In such cases, the law is the basis for processing (and your consent is not required for us to fulfill these legal duties).
- Legitimate Interests: We process some personal data because it is in our legitimate business interests to do so, and we have assessed that our interests are not overridden by your data protection rights. Examples include improving our platform’s functionality, securing our systems and preventing fraud, sending service improvement surveys to clients, or similar activities that help us operate an effective brokerage service. When we rely on legitimate interests, we consider the potential impact on you and ensure that we use your data in a way that is proportionate and respects your privacy. You have the right to object to processing based on our legitimate interests in certain cases (see Your Rights below). If you object, we will evaluate your request and cease the processing unless we have a compelling legitimate ground to continue or if it is needed for legal claims.
- Consent: In specific situations, we rely on your consent to process personal data. This is typically for optional uses of your data, such as sending you promotional emails or using certain cookies/tracking for analytics and marketing (where required by law). If we ask for your consent, we will present you with a clear choice and explanation of what you are consenting to. You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. Withdrawing consent will not affect the lawfulness of processing that occurred before your withdrawal, but it will mean, for example, that we will stop the particular activity you had consented to (such as sending marketing emails). We do not generally base core account processing on consent (since we have other bases like contract or law), but consent is used for additional features or communications where needed.
- Protection of Vital Interests/Public Interest: These bases are unlikely to apply to our day-to-day operations. “Vital interests” would cover rare scenarios where processing is necessary to protect someone’s life or physical safety. “Public interest” could apply if our processing is needed for a task carried out in the public interest or under official authority (which is not common for a private trading company). We mention them for completeness, but we typically do not rely on these bases in providing our services to clients. If that ever changed, we would inform you.
In all cases, Trendo strives to ensure that we have a lawful justification for our use of personal data and that we adhere to the principle of data minimization (only using the data that is necessary for the stated purpose).
- We may also ask for information on your source of funds or wealth (e.g. bank confirmation letters or income proof) if required by law.

- Profiling and Automated Decision-Making: In general, Trendo does not rely on automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects on you without human intervention.
Disclosure of Your Personal Data
Trendo treats your personal data with care and confidentiality. We do not sell your personal information to third-party companies for their independent marketing or commercial use. However, to run our business and comply with laws, there are times we need to share some of your data with third parties. We only share the minimum information necessary for the task, and we always ensure that any third party who handles your data is bound to strict standards of security and confidentiality (typically through contractual agreements such as data processing agreements (DPAs)). The categories of recipients with whom we may share your personal data include:
- Affiliates within the Trendo Group: Your information may be shared among the entities that make up the Trendo corporate group (such as Trendo LLC in Armenia, Trendo International Group Ltd in the UK, and Trendo Markets Ltd in Saint Lucia). For example, certain operational or support tasks might be handled by one group entity on behalf of another. We share data within our group on a need-to-know basis to facilitate seamless service – for instance, our technical team in one location might access user data to maintain the platform, or compliance officers in another office might review KYC documents. All Trendo entities follow this Privacy Policy and are bound by confidentiality. If you are a customer from a certain region, your data might be primarily handled by a designated group entity, but securely accessed by others in the group for support or regulatory reasons.
- Service Providers and Vendors: We use reputable third-party service providers to support our operations, and we may need to share personal data with them so that they can perform services on our behalf. These include:
- Service Providers and Vendors: We use reputable third-party service providers to support our operations, and we may need to share personal data with them so that they can perform services on our behalf. These include:
- Cloud Hosting and IT Infrastructure: We host our servers and databases with trusted providers to ensure high availability and security. For instance, we utilize Hetzner Online GmbH (a leading data center provider) for some of our server infrastructure, and potentially other cloud services like Amazon Web Services or similar, to store and manage data. Personal data (such as your account information and documents) may be stored on these servers. We have agreements in place to ensure your data is protected and that these providers only process data under our instructions.
- Payment Processors and Banking Partners: To handle deposits and withdrawals, we work with banks, credit card processors, e-wallet providers, and other payment gateway services. If you deposit or withdraw funds, we share necessary information with the payment provider to execute the transaction – this may include your name, account number or card details (for verification), transaction amount, and perhaps your address if required for anti-fraud checks by the payment processor. These partners are themselves subject to financial regulations and are required to protect your data.
- Identity Verification Services: To perform KYC checks efficiently, we may use third-party identity verification tools or services. For example, we might send your name, date of birth, and document details to a service that can verify the authenticity of your ID or check it against government databases. These services return a verification result, which we use to approve or deny account verification. Any such third-party KYC processor is bound to use your data only for our verification purposes and in line with privacy laws.
- Communications and Support Tools: We rely on certain software or platforms to communicate with customers and provide support. For instance, we use Zoho CRM for managing support tickets and customer relationships. When you contact us, details like your name, email, and the content of your inquiry may be logged in these systems. Likewise, if we offer live chat support, we might process your messages in real-time to facilitate the chat. These tools help us keep track of issues and respond faster. They are contractually obligated to keep your data confidential.
- Analytics and Marketing Partners: As described in the Cookies section, we use Google Analytics, Tag Manager, and potentially advertising platforms (like Google Ads, Meta, or Telegram advertising tools) to analyze user activity and run marketing campaigns. These platforms may receive limited personal data (mostly online identifiers like cookies or device IDs, and usage data) for them to provide aggregate insights or re-targeting services to us. For example, Google Analytics will process your IP address and device info to tell us about site traffic, or Mata may receive a hashed identifier to know you visited our site so we can show you an ad on Instagram. We do not share actual account databases or real names with these analytics platforms – it’s generally pseudonymized web data. All such platforms are expected to handle data per their privacy agreements and applicable laws (note that some, like Google and Meta, might process data in the US or other countries, which we address in Data Transfers).
- Professional Advisors and Outsourced Services: We may share information with our auditors, legal counsel, accountants, or other professional advisors when necessary. For instance, our external auditors might review records that include personal data as part of a regulatory audit of our operations. Similarly, if we seek legal advice on a customer dispute or regulatory inquiry, we might need to share relevant personal data with our attorneys. These parties are under duties of confidentiality.
- Marketing and Survey Providers: If we conduct client satisfaction surveys or send newsletters, we might use an email marketing service or survey tool (for example, Zoho for newsletters or surveys). These platforms would handle your email address and potentially your responses to surveys or emails. They act under our instructions to distribute communications and compile responses. You can always opt out from marketing emails as noted, and survey participation is usually voluntary and anonymous unless you choose to provide contact info.
- Other Third-Party Tools: We continuously improve our platform and may introduce new integrated services (for example, a partner that provides in-app market news or trading signals). If any such integration involves sharing your data, we will update our policy or notify you. In general, any third-party integration that uses your data will either do so at your request (thus obvious to you) or under strict agreement with Trendo to only use it for specified purposes.
We ensure that all service providers acting as data processors on our behalf are subject to contractual terms that enforce adequate data protection measures. They cannot use your data for their own purposes and must return or delete it after completing the service. We remain responsible for the handling of your personal information by any such third-party agents if we provide such information to them.
- Introducing Brokers and Business Partners: If you were introduced to Trendo by an external broker, referral partner, or affiliate, we may confirm certain information to them for compensation and relationship management purposes. For example, if you sign up using a referral code or under an Introducing Broker (IB) agreement, we might share data such as your account number, registration date, or trading volume with the referring partner so they can calculate their commissions or assist you locally. We do not share sensitive personal documents or full account details with IBs, only the information necessary for them to track referrals and comply with their own legal obligations (some IBs might need to do KYC on referred clients in certain jurisdictions). All such partners are required to protect your data and use it only in connection with their partnership with Trendo. They are bound to limit usage, and they are not allowed to misuse your data or market to you beyond what Trendo permits.
- Authorities and Legal Compliance: We may disclose personal information to third parties such as government authorities, law enforcement, regulators, courts, or other public bodies when we have a legal obligation or lawful request to do so. This includes situations like:
- Regulators and Financial Authorities: Our operations are supervised by financial regulatory bodies (for example, the Saint Lucia International Financial Centre for our St. Lucia entity. These regulators have the legal right to request information about our users and activities to ensure compliance with laws. We may be required to share client data (e.g., KYC documents, transactional data) during routine audits or specific investigations by such regulators.
- Law Enforcement and Court Orders: If we receive a court order, subpoena, or warrant requiring us to disclose information about a user (for example, as part of a criminal investigation or civil litigation), we will comply to the extent the law requires. We will verify that the request is legitimate and only provide the data specifically demanded. Similarly, if law enforcement agencies inform us of suspected illegal activity involving a user account, we may share relevant data (like identity and transaction records) to assist in their investigation, as mandated by law.
- Tax Authorities: In some jurisdictions, we might need to report certain information to tax authorities. If so, we will share required identifying information and financial data with the appropriate tax authority or designated agencies.
- Compliance with Laws: If applicable laws or regulations outside of regulatory requests require data sharing (for example, a law requiring reporting of large transactions or suspicious activities), we will fulfill those requirements. We may not be able to notify you of such disclosures if we are legally prohibited from doing so (as is often the case with anti-money laundering reports or law enforcement requests, which must remain confidential). Rest assured, we never volunteer personal data to authorities unless there is a legal basis – we only respond to formal and legitimate processes.
- With Your Consent or at Your Direction: Apart from the situations above, we will share your personal data with other parties only if you have given us explicit consent to do so, or if you ask us to. For instance, if you request that we send your account statements to a third-party auditor or advisor of yours, or if you use a feature that enables you to share data (like linking your Trendo account to a third-party app like Telegram where you authorize data exchange), we will share data as needed under your direction. Another example is if you win a contest and we seek your permission to publish your name or testimonial on our website – we would only do so with your agreement. In short, we will not disclose your personal information to anyone outside Trendo and our service ecosystem unless you have consented to it or it is one of the specific purposes mentioned in this Policy.
When sharing data with any third party, Trendo always strives to minimize the information disclosed to what is relevant and necessary for the intended purpose. We also ensure that recipients commit to confidentiality and data protection through appropriate agreements or are otherwise bound by adequate duties (such as regulated banks or authorities under law). If you would like more details about the third parties with whom we share data, you may contact us for further information.
International Data Transfers
Trendo serves clients globally, which means your personal data may be transferred to, and stored or processed in, multiple countries, including countries outside of your own. Our primary operations involve entities and servers in Armenia, the United Kingdom, EU, Saint Lucia, and possibly other locations. If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or another region with data transfer restrictions, please note that your personal data may be transferred to countries that are outside the EEA (for example, to Armenia or Saint Lucia, or to the United States or other countries where some of our service providers are based). These countries may have data protection laws that are different from the laws of your country, and in some cases may not be deemed to provide the same level of protection.
Trendo is committed to ensuring that your information is afforded an adequate level of protection no matter where it is processed. When we transfer personal data internationally, we take steps to comply with applicable cross-border data transfer laws. These measures include:
- Intra-Group Transfers: Transfers of personal data within the Trendo group (e.g., between our EU/EEA-related operations and our Armenian or Saint Lucian operations) are governed by internal agreements that incorporate standard data protection clauses. For instance, for EEA personal data moving to Armenia or Saint Lucia, we rely on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or equivalent safeguards as a legal mechanism. These clauses contractually obligate the receiving Trendo entity to protect EEA personal data to EU standards. We have also implemented robust policies and technical controls group-wide to ensure consistent security.
- Transfers to Service Providers: When using third-party service providers located in another country, we will only transfer personal data to them if appropriate safeguards are in place. If the provider is in a country that the EU has determined does not have an “adequate” level of data protection, we ensure one or more of the following is implemented: (a) Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs): We sign the SCCs with the provider to contractually require them to protect EU personal data; (b) Additional Technical Measures: We may use encryption, pseudonymization, or store EU data in EU servers to mitigate risks as applicable; (c) Certification or Frameworks: We check if the provider is certified under frameworks like the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (if applicable) or similar programs that facilitate compliant transfers. For example, if we transfer data to a cloud service in the US, we will ensure SCCs are in place and that the provider has commitments for EU data handling.
- Legal and Contractual Necessity: In some cases, we may rely on derogations for specific situations under GDPR Article 49 for international transfers – for example, if a transfer is necessary for the performance of a contract (servicing your international transaction) or if you explicitly consent to the transfer after being informed of possible risks. However, our general approach is to use the structural safeguards (like SCCs) for routine and systemic transfers, and not rely on derogations except on a case-by-case basis.
- Data Storage Locations: We aim to store and process data in secure data centers. Many of our systems (such as trading servers) are in highly secure facilities in the EU or similarly secure jurisdictions, which means a lot of client trading data might remain within the EEA. However, administrative and support data (like KYC info, CRM data) might reside in other locations like Armenia or on cloud services that span multiple regions. Regardless of location, all Trendo systems abide by strong security protocols. Our staff access and handle user’s data under confidentiality agreements and in line with EU-equivalent privacy principles, given our commitment to international standards.
- China and Other Countries: If you are based in countries like China or others in Asia-Pacific, your data will likely be processed on our central systems outside your country (e.g., in our main servers). While those countries may have local regulations about cross-border data, by using our services you understand that your data will be transferred internationally. We ensure compliance with any such local requirements to the extent they apply to us. For example, if certain data localization or consent requirements exist, we will abide by them (without explicitly naming specific country laws here, we broadly commit to complying with applicable international data regulations).
By using Trendo’s services, you understand that your personal data may be transferred to our facilities and those third parties with whom we share it as described in this Policy, even if those are in other countries. We will take all measures that are reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
Data Retention
We will retain your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes we collected it for, including to satisfy any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. Trendo’s data retention practices are designed to comply with financial regulations and to ensure we do not keep information longer than we should. The specific duration for which we keep your data may vary depending on the nature of the data and the purposes of processing.
In general, we retain your personal information while your account is active and for a period after your account is closed or your relationship with us has ended. Once you cease being a user (for example, if you request account closure or you have had no activity for a long time and your account is terminated), we do not immediately delete all your data. We will keep the data that remains necessary for legal or regulatory obligations and legitimate business purposes.
Key retention periods typically include:
- Compliance and Legal Retention: For regulatory reasons, we must keep certain records for a minimum number of years. For instance, under anti-money laundering laws and financial regulations, we are generally required to retain identity verification data, account records, and transaction histories for at least five (5) years after the end of the customer relationship or the date of a transaction (the exact period may vary by jurisdiction, and some laws even mandate longer retention). We adhere to these requirements – so even if you close your account, your KYC documents and transaction records will be stored in our secure archives for the legally mandated period. We will not use this data for any new purposes during retention except as necessary for compliance (e.g., responding to official audits or investigations).
- Dispute and Litigation Purposes: If you have an ongoing dispute with Trendo, or if we reasonably believe there is a prospect of litigation or a regulatory inquiry relating to your data or activities, we will retain the relevant information until that issue is resolved and for a period thereafter as required by law. For example, if you file a complaint that is under investigation, we will retain data through the investigation and any enforcement period. Similarly, data needed to enforce our agreements or to defend ourselves in court will be kept as long as needed for those legal proceedings (subject to legal holds we may put in place).
- Business and Operational Retention: We may keep certain data for internal business operations for a period of time. For instance, backup copies of our databases might be kept for a few months before they are cyclically overwritten, which could incidentally include data from accounts that have since been deleted in the live system. We also retain logs and records of system access for security monitoring, typically for a limited time unless reviewed for specific investigations. Additionally, aggregate data and anonymous data derived from personal data may be retained indefinitely as it no longer identifies you.
- Marketing Records: If you have consented to receive marketing communications, we will keep your contact details for that purpose until you unsubscribe or otherwise opt-out of marketing (or until we decide to purge inactive contacts). If you opt out of marketing, we may keep a record of your opt-out request indefinitely so that we can continue to honor your preference.
- Website & App Analytics Data: Data collected via cookies and other web or App trackers may be retained as per the cookie’s lifecycle (some cookies exist only for a session, others may last months or years if not cleared). We typically rely on third-party analytics retention settings; for example, Google Analytics data is often retained for 26 months by default, but we may adjust that as needed. This data is mostly aggregated, but any identifiers in it will be deleted or anonymized after the retention period.
Once the retention period for a certain piece of data expires, or if we determine that the data is no longer needed even though the period hasn’t fully expired, we will either delete the data securely or anonymize it so that it can no longer be associated with an individual. For example, if an account has been closed and the 5-year regulatory retention has passed, we will remove personal identifiers from the remaining data (so trades might be kept in a statistical sense, but not linked to your name).
Secure Deletion: Trendo has processes in place to ensure data is safely disposed of. Electronic data is purged from our databases and archives in a secure manner (and we ensure any third parties do the same).
In summary, we only retain your personal data for as long as necessary to achieve the purposes outlined in this Policy or to comply with legal obligations, and then we delete or anonymize it. Your personal information will not be kept indefinitely by Trendo. If you have specific questions about our retention policy for a certain type of record, feel free to contact us.

Data Security
Trendo takes the security of your personal data extremely seriously. We have implemented a comprehensive range of technical and organizational measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures are designed to provide a level of security appropriate to the sensitivity of the personal data we process and the risks presented by its processing.
Here are some key aspects of our data security program:
- Secure Infrastructure: We store personal data on secure servers and cloud infrastructure that employ state-of-the-art security controls. Our servers are in professional data centers with strong physical securities and redundant systems to protect against data loss. We isolate customer data in environments accessible only by authorized personnel. Wherever possible, we use servers located in jurisdictions with robust data protection standards (e.g., in the EU). The dedicated servers we use (such as those at https://api.trendofx.com and other Trendo systems) are hardened and regularly updated with security patches.
- Encryption: We use encryption to protect data in transit and at rest. When you access our websites or apps, the connection is secured via HTTPS/TLS encryption – this means that all data transmitted between your browser/app and our servers is encrypted, preventing eavesdropping by third parties. Sensitive data (such as passwords and payment information) is further protected by encryption or hashing. For instance, passwords are stored in hashed form (not in plain text), and any payment card details are handled in accordance with PCI DSS standards (often tokenized or stored by our payment processors rather than on our servers). We also encrypt certain sensitive fields in our databases and ensure that backups are encrypted as well.
- Access Controls: We strictly limit access to personal data within our organization on a need-to-know basis. Only employees or contractors who require your information to perform their job (for example, a support agent helping you with an issue or a compliance officer reviewing your KYC documents) are granted access, and even then, only to the specific data necessary. We have implemented role-based access control, unique user IDs, and authentication mechanisms to ensure that staff access is logged and controlled. Administrative access to systems requires strong authentication (such as multi-factor authentication) and is regularly reviewed.
- Firewalls and Network Security: Our network is protected by firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and other boundary security technologies. These help prevent unauthorized network access and detect potential intrusions. We separate internal networks from externally facing ones and employ secure network architecture principles (such as DMZs for public servers). Regular vulnerability scanning and penetration testing are performed to identify and address potential weaknesses in our network or applications.
- Monitoring and Auditing: We continuously monitor our systems for suspicious activities, unauthorized access attempts, or anomalies. Our security team gets alerts for unusual events (e.g., multiple failed login attempts, strange data export patterns) and can respond swiftly. We also maintain audit logs for key systems so that we can trace access to personal data. These logs are protected to prevent tampering and are reviewed periodically. Regular security audits and risk assessments are conducted to evaluate our security posture and ensure compliance with industry best practices.
- Employee Training and Policies: We ensure that everyone at Trendo who handles personal data is trained in data protection and security. Employees are required to follow strict security policies and procedures, including the use of strong passwords, secure handling of data, and immediate reporting of any suspected security incidents. We also impose contractual confidentiality obligations on our staff and contractors. Access to especially sensitive data (like full client identification documents) may be restricted to senior or specially trained staff. Our team is aware of social engineering risks and is trained to verify identities before discussing account details.
- Regular Testing and Maintenance: We regularly perform checks, tests, and updates on our security measures. This includes applying software patches and updates promptly to guard against known vulnerabilities, running simulated cyber-attack exercises (penetration tests), and engaging independent security experts to audit our systems. We also test our data backup and recovery processes periodically to ensure that we could restore availability of personal data in case of a physical or technical incident.
- Business Continuity and Backups: We maintain data backups and have a business continuity plan. In case of an unexpected event (hardware failure, natural disaster, etc.), we have redundancy so that your data is not lost and our services can continue or be restored quickly. Backups are encrypted and stored securely. Our disaster recovery procedures are designed to minimize downtime and data loss.
- Third-Party Security: When we share data with third-party service providers, we ensure that they meet appropriate security standards. We do due diligence on their security measures and require contracts that oblige them to protect data. We flow down security requirements in our Data Processing Agreements with vendors.
- No Guarantee: Despite all these measures, it’s important to note that no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. We continuously work to protect your personal data, but we cannot guarantee absolute security. In the event of a data breach or any security incident that affects your personal data, we have a detailed incident response plan. We will contain and investigate the issue promptly, and we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law. We aim to be transparent about such incidents and to learn from them to further strengthen our defenses.
By using Trendo’s services, you acknowledge the security measures we have in place and understand that while we strive to protect your information, there is always some residual risk in any digital environment. We encourage you as well to take precautions on your side: keep your account credentials confidential, use a strong and unique password, enable two-factor authentication if we offer it, and promptly inform us if you suspect any unauthorized access to your account or personal data. Our team will assist you in securing your account.
Your Rights and Choices
As a user of Trendo’s services and as a data subject, you have a number of rights regarding your personal data. We respect your rights and have processes in place to enable you to exercise them. The availability of certain rights and the ways to exercise them can depend on your jurisdiction (for example, EU/EEA residents have rights under the GDPR, UK residents under the UK GDPR, etc.), but in general Trendo extends these core rights to all our users as part of our commitment to privacy. Below is an overview of your key data protection rights:
- Right to Access: You have the right to request confirmation of whether we are processing your personal data, and if so, to obtain a copy of the personal data we hold about you. This is commonly known as a “Data Subject Access Request.” Upon verification of your identity, we will provide you with a summary of the information we have about you, including details on the categories of data, the purposes of processing, and the recipients with whom it’s shared (unless restricted by law). You can request this by contacting us using the information in the Contact section. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe (generally within one month as required by GDPR, and we will inform you if an extension is needed). Please note that excessive or unfounded requests may be subject to a fee or, in rare cases, a refusal as permitted by law – but we will inform you of our reasoning in such event.
- Right to Rectification: We want to ensure that the information we hold about you is accurate and up to date. If you find that any of your personal data is incorrect or incomplete, you have the right to request that we correct or update it. For example, if you change your phone number or notice your date of birth is recorded incorrectly, you can ask us to fix it. In many cases, you can directly update certain information by logging into your Trendo account profile. For any data you cannot self-edit (like documents you’ve submitted), you can contact support with the corrected information or documentation. We will make the corrections as soon as possible and also notify any third parties who received the incorrect data (if we are legally required to do so).
- Right to Erasure (Right to Be Forgotten): You have the right to request the deletion of your personal data in certain circumstances. This means you can ask us to erase personal information we hold about you, for example, if it’s no longer necessary for the purposes it was collected, or if you withdraw your consent (in cases where consent is the basis for processing), or if you object to processing and we have no overriding legitimate grounds to continue, or if the data was unlawfully processed. We will assess such requests on a case-by-case basis. Please understand that this right is not absolute – sometimes we cannot delete your data immediately due to legal obligations. For instance, as a financial institution, we are required to keep certain records for a minimum period (as discussed in Data Retention). If you request deletion, we will remove what we can, but we might retain data required for compliance (we will inform you of this). We will also keep a note that you requested erasure, so we don’t inadvertently use the data for other purposes. In practice, if you wish to close your account, we will deactivate your account and remove or anonymize personal data that is not needed for ongoing obligations. Data that we must keep (e.g., KYC and transaction history for 5+ years) will be securely isolated and protected until it can be deleted. Rest assured, we will not use your data for any new purposes once you’ve requested erasure (except as needed for legal reasons). Outside of regulatory requirements, if we have no reason to keep your data, we will comply with your erasure request.
- Right to Restrict Processing: In certain situations, you have the right to ask us to limit or “freeze” the processing of your personal data. This means we would store your data but temporarily stop any other processing activities with it. You can request restriction if: (a) you contest the accuracy of your personal data (for a period enabling us to verify it); (b) the processing is unlawful and you oppose erasure, requesting restriction instead; (c) we no longer need the data but you need it for establishing, exercising, or defending legal claims; or (d) you have objected to processing (see below) and we are verifying whether our legitimate grounds override yours. While processing is restricted, we will not use or share the data except for storage and to handle potential legal claims or as otherwise consented by you. Once the issue is resolved (e.g., data corrected or our legitimate interests confirmed), we will inform you before lifting the restriction. If your account is under restriction, it may affect your ability to use the platform normally (for instance, we might restrict trades in an account if data is contested). We will let you know in such cases.
- Right to Object: You have the right to object to certain types of processing of your personal data, on grounds relating to your particular situation. Specifically, you can object at any time to processing that is based on our legitimate interests (or those of a third party) if you believe it impacts your fundamental rights and freedoms. If you raise such an objection, we will pause processing the data in question and assess your request. We will either: (a) stop the processing if we cannot demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds that override your interests, or (b) inform you of the justification if we believe we have overriding grounds or need to continue for legal claims. Importantly, you have an unconditional right to object to the processing of your personal data for direct marketing purposes at any time. This includes any profiling related to direct marketing. If you object to direct marketing, we will immediately stop using your data for those purposes. For example, if you tell us you don’t want marketing emails or SMS, we will remove you from our marketing distribution lists. This is separate from service communications – even if you opt out of marketing, we may still send important account notices (which are not based on consent or legitimate interest in marketing, but on contract or law). To exercise your objection right, you can contact us or simply use the opt-out mechanisms provided (like “unsubscribe” links). There is no charge for objecting and we will honor it promptly.
- Right to Data Portability: Where applicable (mainly under GDPR for automated data processed based on consent or contract), you have the right to receive a copy of certain personal data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format, and to request that we transmit it to another data controller if technically feasible. This right primarily applies to the data you provided to us and that is processed by automated means – for example, your account registration details or trading history. If you need a digital copy of your data to port to another service, we will endeavor to provide it (for instance, in a CSV or JSON file). Note that data portability is somewhat limited in our context since brokerage data doesn’t readily import into other services, but the right is there for you. We will also, upon request, directly transfer the data to a third-party service you designate if possible. We will ensure the transfer is done securely. Keep in mind that portability does not imply erasure of your data from our systems (you can request erasure separately); also, we might not include data that contains personal information of others or our proprietary risk assessments, etc., as those might be exempt.
- Right not to be Subject to Automated Decisions: You have the right not to be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing (including profiling) that produces legal effects or similarly significantly affects you, unless it is necessary for entering or performing a contract, authorized by law, or based on your explicit consent. Trendo’s policy is to avoid such automated decisions without human review, as explained earlier. If we ever leverage fully automated decision-making that could impact you (for example, an algorithm deciding to reject an account application without any human oversight), we will inform you and ensure we have a lawful basis (and typically we would seek your consent, unless the law allows otherwise). In any case, you have the right to challenge and request human review of an automated decision if you feel it’s incorrect or unfair. For instance, if an automated system declines a withdrawal because it flagged it as suspicious, you can contact support to have a person review it. We will also explain the logic of the decision to you if you request (to the extent allowed by law and without revealing trade secrets). Our aim is to be transparent about such processes.
- Right to Withdraw Consent: Where we rely on your consent to process personal data, you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time. This typically applies to optional processing like marketing. For example, if you gave consent to receive promotional emails or to allow cookies, you can withdraw by unsubscribing from emails or adjusting your browser settings for cookies (or by contacting us). Withdrawal of consent will not affect the legality of any processing we conducted prior to your withdrawal. However, once you withdraw consent, we will cease the processing for which consent was given. If you withdraw consent for cookies or tracking, some site features might become less tailored. If you withdraw consent for a specific thing (like a particular promotion that required it), we’ll let you know if that affects your ability to continue with that feature. Note that we do not generally ask for consent for most core processing (we rely on contract or law), so this right mostly concerns marketing and similar activities.
- Right to Lodge a Complaint: We strive to address all your concerns directly and promptly. If you ever have any issue with how we are handling your personal data, we encourage you to contact us first (our contact details are below) so we can try to resolve it. However, if you are not satisfied with our response, or you believe we are violating your data protection rights, you have the right to file a complaint with the data protection authority in your country. If you are in the European Union/EEA, you can contact the supervisory authority in the member state of your habitual residence, place of work, or place of the alleged infringement. We will cooperate fully with any official inquiries and adhere to the decisions given by such authorities. That said, we really hope to avoid any issues escalating to that level by working with you proactively.
How to Exercise Your Rights: To exercise any of your rights, please contact us via the channels listed in Contact Us below. In order to protect your privacy, we will need to verify your identity with a high degree of certainty before fulfilling requests (especially for access, erasure, or portability). For example, we may ask you to send the request from your registered email address and/or provide information that matches our records, or go through our secure verification process. If someone (like an authorized agent or attorney) is making the request on your behalf, we will require proof of authorization and still take steps to verify the data subject’s identity.
We will do our best to respond to your requests promptly and within the timeframes required by law (generally one month, extendable by another two months for complex requests – if an extension is needed, we will inform you of the reason). There is typically no fee for exercising your rights. However, if a request is manifestly unfounded or excessive (for example, repetitive requests), we may charge a reasonable fee or refuse to act on it, as permitted by law. We will always explain our decision in such cases.
Also, please note that some rights may not be absolute. There are exemptions in the laws – for example, we might refuse an access request if fulfilling it would adversely affect the rights and freedoms of others (like revealing another person’s data or our trade secrets), or we might decline erasure if the data must be retained by law. If we must refuse any part of your request, we will provide you with a clear explanation of our reasoning, unless legally restricted from doing so.
Opt-Out of Marketing: As emphasized above in your right to object, you can opt out of marketing communications from Trendo at any time. To do so, you can click the “unsubscribe” link in any promotional email or newsletter we send. You can also adjust your preferences in your account settings if that feature is available, or simply contact our support and state that you do not wish to receive marketing. Once you opt out, we will stop using your contact information for direct marketing. Please note, however, that transactional or service communications (like account notifications, password resets, trade confirmations) are not subject to general opt-out as they are necessary for our services. If you have opted out of emails but still use our services, you will continue to receive those operational emails.
Cookies: For controlling cookies, as described in the Cookies section, you can manage this via your browser settings or third-party opt-out tools. Some jurisdictions (like EU countries) also allow you to use cookie consent management on our site; if our site features a cookie consent banner, you can use it to accept or reject various categories of cookies. If you later change your mind, clearing cookies in your browser and re-visiting our site will usually prompt the consent banner again.
We are committed to enabling you to exercise your rights easily. If you need any assistance understanding or exercising your rights, our support team is here to help. Your privacy and control over your data are of paramount importance to Trendo.
Children’s Privacy
As stated earlier in this Policy, Trendo’s services are not directed to children or minors (typically defined as individuals under 18 years of age, or under the legal age of majority in their jurisdiction). We do not knowingly solicit or collect personal information from minors. Our account registration and identity verification processes are designed to ensure that all customers are adults. For example, during KYC we require proof of age via identification documents, and we will reject any applicant who is not at least 18 (or the applicable age required to legally enter into a trading agreement, if higher in certain countries).
If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal data from a person under the age of 18 (for instance, if a minor falsified their information to create an account), we will take immediate steps to delete such information from our records or, if deletion is not feasible for legal reasons, to mark it and ensure it is not used for any purpose (except if required to protect the child or others as mandated by law). We may also block the minor from accessing our services and take measures to prevent future sign-ups (such as blacklisting certain details). Additionally, if any minor is detected using our platform, we may report it to relevant legal authorities if required, given that providing financial services to minors is generally unlawful.
Parents or legal guardians: If you suspect that your child (under 18) has provided personal information to Trendo or is using our services, please contact us immediately. We will take appropriate action to investigate and address the issue, including removing the data and terminating the child’s account. We rely on the information provided by users to determine their age, so we also encourage parents/guardians to supervise their children’s online activities and educate them on not sharing personal data on the internet without permission.
In summary, Trendo does not offer accounts or services to minors and does not intentionally collect their data. We are committed to complying with all child protection regulations. If any part of our website or services is ever directed to children in the future (which is not in our business plan), we will implement appropriate child-specific privacy protections in accordance with laws like COPPA (in the USA) or similar regulations elsewhere.
Updates to this Privacy Policy
We may revise or update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our business, legal or regulatory obligations, or best practices in privacy and security. Laws and regulations may evolve, and our services or data processing activities may also change (for example, if we introduce new features or expand into new regions). Whenever we make material changes to this Policy, we will inform you in a manner appropriate to the significance of the changes:
- Posting on the Website: We will post the updated Privacy Policy on our website (at the same URL as this policy, typically com/privacy or a similar path). We will update the “Effective Date” (and/or “Last Updated” date) at the top of the Policy so you can easily see that it has been revised.
- Notification: If the changes are significant, we will provide a prominent notice on our website or trading platform – for example, a banner or pop-up notification informing users of the update. We may also send an email to our registered users or an in-app message alerting you that the Privacy Policy has been revised. The communication will summarize key changes and direct you to the full Policy. For minor or non-material changes (such as clarifications, grammatical fixes, or changes that do not negatively impact your rights), we may simply update the Policy on the site without a specific notice, but the effective date will still change.
- Consent for Certain Changes: If any update to the Privacy Policy would materially change how we handle your data in a way that requires your consent (under applicable law), we will obtain your consent for those new practices. For instance, if in the future we intended to use your data for a new purpose not covered by this Policy, we would either ask for your consent or give you a clear ability to opt out, as required by law. Generally, our aim is to not reduce your rights or protections under this Policy without a valid reason, and we certainly don’t intend to do so without notice.
We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about how we are protecting your information. It’s important that you understand our current practices and your responsibilities as well (for example, keeping your contact info updated so we can reach you with any privacy notices).
If you continue to use Trendo’s services after a new version of the Privacy Policy has become effective, that will indicate your acceptance of the revised terms (to the extent permitted by law). If you do not agree with any changes, you should stop using our services and contact us if you have concerns. We will always provide the option for you to close your account if you do not agree with the Policy, though we hope our changes will remain favorable and protective of your privacy.
For historical reference or transparency, we may keep prior versions of this Privacy Policy archived and available (for example, we might list an archive on our website or provide a copy upon request) so you can see how it has evolved.
